A certified dive master, blues and jazz musician, and committed ocean advocate, Alex has explored the Great Barrier Reef, the British Virgin Islands, and Hawaii while working alongside Ocean One and the Surfrider Foundation to protect the seas he loves.

From the Ocean Floor to the Community
Alex Hykel's commitment to conservation runs deep. Since picking up scuba diving at 15, Alex has logged dives across some of the world's most demanding reef systems and channeled that passion into real cleanup work with Ocean One and the Surfrider Foundation. That same drive to give back extends to Habitat for Humanity and to teaching money management skills to low-income families, including those in Section 8 housing.
The skills Alex built underwater, reading risk, staying calm under pressure, and respecting an environment you can't fully control, translate directly into how Alex shows up for people on land. It's a consistent thread: preparation matters, details matter, and the people around you matter more than most things.
Discipline, Adventure, and Lifelong Growth
Alex studied jazz at FAU, performed blues and jazz fusion at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, and has spent winters chasing difficult runs at Jackson Hole, Banff, and Breckenridge. These aren't casual hobbies. Each one demands discipline, repetition, and a genuine tolerance for starting over when conditions change. Alex treats them the same way: with full attention and a long horizon.
Right now, Alex is working toward a CFP designation and planning dives in new corners of the world. The goal has always been the same one, keep learning, keep exploring, and build something worth sharing with others along the way.
